From my perspective, I would like to photograph something that may represent a culture of a place as well as to inspire the local society. I have a strong belief that photo has the power to change the world, and bringing an different eye to where they live. For this, it is especially for me to credit my home town though this blog.

Hong Kong has definitely influenced me a lot by its uniqueness and I have gained so much loyalty towards it as I have been living there for 17years. Deeply to the root, it has inspired my creative works,e.g. my photography and my thought of producing such kind of intriguing works to tell the whole world how beautiful this city is. ' I give what I take' , I would like to say out loud through my photographs about how Hong Kong has made me to this personality and how much I love it.

-----To My Beloved hong Kong -----

Public Estates

The photo below used double exposure to combine two significant landscapes of Hong Kong's public estate.

Public housing is a set of mass housing programs through which the HK government provides affordable housing for lower-income residents since 1950's. In other words, they have last for nearly 6 decades. I was grown in those public estate, and in there, interaction between residents were even more closer and amiable, that is the uniqueness compared to private estates. More children were playing in the playground as it is the only free entertainment for them. For this, I would say this kind of playground can't separate from the building because they are all represent the unique culture of living in a public estate. By living in it, I have learnt how to be grateful to my surroundings, I feel warm in there and so this photo has showed what characteristics do public estates have and that can be extend to those stories behind peoples.

Stores

Shops there are mostly run by the residents as a family-engagement ; they only do care the relationships between peoples but not how much profit they can earn. Those little stores sell a variety of goods, from drinks to small-sized furniture. I took a photo of the beverages from one of the stores, and it had recorded my memories : when I was small, I was not even tall enough to open the fridge and there was only few drinks inside. And now, I have became taller and with the number of drinks has increased.
